This course provides an overview of the Java 2 Platform, Micro Edtition (J2ME), its configurations and profiles, with emphasis on application development for the Mobile Information Devices (MID) profile. The initial course modle reviews the J2ME platform in light of the two specified configurations (the Connected, Limited Device configuration [CLDC], and the Connected Device Configuration [CDC]). The remaining course modules explore the new CLDC MID Profiel (MIDP) used for cellular phones, two-way pagers, and Personal Data Assistants (PDAs).
