Extending Apache Web Server Functionality

 Course Description
    Course Outline/Details

The Extending Apache Web Server Functionality course introduces the different types of search tools, including their main features and limitations, and explaining how they work. Students learn the relationship between Common Gateway Interface (CGI) and Apache Web Server, as well as scripting languages commonly used with CGI. Students learn about the functionality of server-side includes and their configuration. Finally, students are introduced to the concept of Apache modules, and receive a description of the most common modules.

This course uses animations to demonstrate some of the concepts animations will appear either in a simple version without audio narration or in a more detailed Macromedia Flash version with audio. For viewers using Netscape Navigator, your browser automatically delivers the Macromedia Flash version if your system supports this. Viewers using Internet Explorer will initially see the simple version, but may choose to view the more detailed Macromedia Flash animation with audio instead. The next animation viewed reflects their last choice.
