VERITAS File System 3.4 Performance and Tuning

 Course Description
    Course Outline/Details

The VERITAS File System 3.4 Performance and Tuning course provides students with instruction on how to maximize the performance of VERITAS File System (VxFS). This is the second in a two-part eLearning series on VERITAS File System. This course provides detailed instruction on the elements within a file system that impact file system performance, and provides insight into the commands and utilities available for tuning VERITAS file system to find the level of system performance and data integrity that meets your needs.

Through this training, you learn how to monitor file system performance through benchmarking, how to manage disk allocation, and how to defragment a file system. Strategies for maintaining file system consistency using the intent log are identified, and ways to enhance I/O performance by controlling I/O access and caching behavior of a file system are explained.
