The Sun ONE Portal Server: Personalized Knowledge Services: Installation and Configuration web-based course is an introduction to Sun ONE Portal Server: Personalized Knowledge Services, 3.01C. The course begins with an overview of the features and benefits of Sun ONE Portal Server: Personalized Knowledge Services. Students are then presented with a detailed procedure that teaches them the fundamentals of installing Sun ONE Portal Server: Personalized Knowledge Services and its supporting products (Directory Server, Portal Server, Compass Server, and Portal Provider) on a sandbox system running the Solaris Operating System (OS).

The course demonstrates basic administration procedures, such as using the console and setting basic configuration values. The course primarily consists of hands-on lab exercises offering students the opportunity to work directly with the product.

This web-based training course is designed to be viewed On a Netscape 4.7 or higher browser (excluding Netscape 6.X) with JavaScript and style-sheets enabled in your browser's preferences. You should be web connected to download the 715 MB product software for the installation section (1.3GB after the products are uncompressed).
