Sun ONE Portal Server Mobile Access Pack 3.0: Installation and Configuration
The Sun ONE Portal Server Mobile Access Pack 3.0: Installation and
Configuration web-based training course introduces students to the role that
Sun ONE Portal Server: Mobile Access Pack 3.0 plays in the Sun Open Net
Environment (Sun ONE) vision. This course provides a high-level overview of
Sun ONE Portal server and a detailed look at the features and architecture of
Mobile Access Pack 3.0. Following this introduction, students perform a lab
exercise in which they are guided in the installation of Mobile Access Pack 3.0
on a sandbox system. This is a comprehensive exercise because successful
installation of Mobile Access Pack 3.0 requires installing all of the
supporting Sun ONE servers. Basic administration tasks, such as adding
devices, are also addressed. Finally, students can take a ten-question quiz and,
upon achieving a score of 80 percent or better, are awarded Certificates of
Completion.
This course can be taken online or downloaded to a local machine. To view this course, students need Netscape Navigator 4.5 or higher, the JavaScript programming language, and cascading style sheets (CSSs) enabled. To complete this course, students need a machine running the Solaris 8 or Solaris 7 Operating System or the Solaris 2.6 Operating System. Sun ONE Portal Server 3.0 Service Pack 3a, Sun ONE Messaging Server 5.1, and Sun ONE Calendar Server 5.0p3 must also be running. In addition, the machine requires a minimum memory of 256 Mbytes with 512 Mbytes of swap disk space, 1 Gbyte of free space in the directory where Sun ONE Portal Server 3.0, Service Pack 3a is installed, 100 Mbytes of free space in the /usr directory, 100 Mbytes of free space in the /etc/opt directory, and 512 Mbytes of free space in the /var/opt directory
