 Course Description
    Course Outline/Details

The Sun Java System Application Server 7: Installation and Administration course is an introductory level Web-based course that addresses key technologies used by Sun Java System Application Server 7 (formerly Sun ONE Application Server 7) to deliver Java 2Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE technology) standards forenterprise applications. It describes the conceptual information for administering and configuring Sun Java System Application Server 7. Throughself-paced interactive lessons, students install Sun Java System ApplicationServer in a typical development environment and learn how to deploy sample applications. Students also practice configuring Sun Java System Application Server 7, monitoring and logging server activity, managingdatabase connectivity and transactions, and administering Java Message Service (JMS) APIs.

Please note: Sun has recently re-branded Sun ONE Application Server 7 to be Sun Java Application Server 7.You may see reference to either name within the course description and course materials.

This course requires the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in and the JavaScript software.

Students can take this course online or download it to a local machine. To view this course, students need either Netscape Navigator 4.7 (or higher) with the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in or Internet Explorer 5.0 (or higher) with the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in, the JavaScript programming language, the Java programming language and cascading style sheets (CSSs) enabled. To complete the installation portion of the course, students need a Sun SPARC workstation running the Solaris 8 or 9 Operating Environment (Solaris OS), a minimum of 512 megabytes (Mbytes) random access memory (RAM) per central processing unit (CPU), and 500 Mbytes of free disk space.
