Sun ONE Application Server 6.5: Installation and Administration

 Course Description
    Course Outline/Details

The Sun ONE Application Server 6.5: Installation and Administration web-based training course provides students with information about key technology used by the Sun ONE Application Server 6.5 to deliver Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) technology for enterprise application. The course provides the conceptual information necessary to administer and configure Sun ONE Application Server. Through the self-paced interactive lessons, students install Sun ONE Application Server in a typical development environment and learn how to deploy sample applications. Students also practice managing Sun ONE Application Server and its processes, monitoring and logging server activities, managing database connectivity and transaction, load-balancing servers, and administering clusters.

Students can take this course online or download it to a local machine. To view this course, students need the following:

  • The Netscape Navigator 4.7 browser with the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in or the Internet Explorer 5.0 browser with the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in
  • The JavaScript software
  • Cascading style sheets (CSSs) enabled in the browser preferences
  • To complete the installation portion of the course, students need a Sun SPARC workstation running the Solaris 2.6 or Solaris 8 Operating System (Solaris OS), a minimum of 215 megabytes (Mbytes) random access memory (RAM) per central processing unit (CPU), and 750 Mbytes of free disk space.
  • Course length: 8-10 hours

  • This course requires the Macromedia Flash 4 (or higher) player. Click here to test if you have Flash.
